What it means

This is a parallel-forms check: a recent-form ranking and a full-history strength ranking land in broadly the same order (Pearson r 0.6369 alongside the rho 0.6419). Read it as convergent validity -- the two measures see the same underlying quality -- rather than as proof that form persists over time.

Caveats & confounds

DESCRIPTIVE_ONLY, edge_claimed false; NOT a temporal split-half and NOT a predictor (soccer_intl's predictive gate is CLOSED upstream). Form win-rate is quantized to one decimal (tie_fraction_form 0.9346), which inflates ties and pulls the correlation toward zero.
